Hi, i live in Sweet Home at an elevation of 1,200 ft i would like to plant Fuyu persimmons. Would that be fruitful in my area?

Dear Rita,
Sweet Home is in the U.S. hardiness zone 8b. These zones give the lowest temperatures per zone and 8b is between 15 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Fuyu Persimmons can be grown in Zones 4 through 9 according many sources. Therefore, it is within the zone for planting.
They are popular in many cities in the Willamette Valley.
