Attached photos showing problem with my Fuji Apple tree. Is this a disease?

New Castle County Delaware

Expert Response

This does look like a disease. I can't identify which one from the photos. Apples are susceptible to fireblight, scab, cedar-apple rust, bitter rot, and Alternaria spot. I suggest you bring a sample to the diagnosic clinic in Townsend Hall, Newark. Or bring a sample to your county extension office. Most diseases can only be treated preventatively and a spray schedule would need to be started at bud break.
