What's wrong with this columbine? #869140

Asked May 19, 2024, 5:22 PM EDT

Hello! One of my non-native columbines is drooping, with yellow leaves. I'm noticing a few spots on a leaf as well. The second plant, close nearby, is fine. Is this powdery mildew?? It doesn't quite look like it.

Expert Response

This looks like Columbine leaf miner damage, specifically ”blotch mines” as described in the following website.

Thank you. I'll take a closer look at the leaves and see if I can detect any larvae or adults. It's "always something" in the garden!
