Spotted Lantern Flies - Ask Extension
Last year or two they were EVERYWHERE we went in Harford Co. First the nymphs and then the flies. This year NONE. What happened??

While high insect populations do sometimes crash, it's not likely that you don't have any at all. Given that you were kind of at the epicenter of the outbreak and had the highest numbers, there is some indication that there are less expected there now.
At this point in the season they are very tiny to small and they look like black and white crawling bugs. In my yard last year I didn't realize I had them until I visited some Tree of Heaven that I was working on controlling.
