Hi,
We probably over-bought netting and it is sounding like Baltimore County may not even see cicadas. Nonetheless, when should we cover our very young trees? Now? or wait until cicadas appear... if they do.

Cindy, the only area in Maryland expecting the periodical cicadas is down in St. Mary's County. No need for netting.

If you have a neighborhood listserv, I find that's a good place to offer things you don't need. Similarly, if you're in a garden club, someone in the club might need it.
