Impatients #868974

Asked May 17, 2024, 11:35 PM EDT

Hello, Never had this happen. Planted double impatiens and next day leaves are droopy. What do you think happened? Smaller impatiens and other plants near are fine. Do I need to pull to avoid disease? I did put phosphorus (?) about a teaspoon full in the whole. Maybe should not have done that? Anyway to correct? Thank you?

Thank you for reaching out to ask2.extension.

I am having the same problem with mine.  Mine was in a pot and I put it in the ground.  I see yours are already in the ground.  I truly don’t know what’s happening.  I’m wondering if the nights are still a touch cool and mine is too wet.  All I can suggest is to let them dry out a little and be patient.  The other thing you could try is to trim it back a little and see if new growth comes.

I’m sorry that I don’t have a great answer.

Thank you. I was concerned about disease and spreading to other plants so tossed them last night as issue seemed to be getting worse. Will give it a week or so and try again.
