Bugs on my apple tree #868909

HI, I have some bugs that are on my apple tree and the tree has been having some branches wilt and die. I'm wondering if it is related and what I should do about the bugs? The picture was taken a few weeks back early in the morning but I saw one of the bugs in the same spot today. The tree is flowering well but I am very concerned. I appreciate any advice. Paul

These look like pill bugs.  These insects feed on decaying organic matter.  The cause-effect relationship is the opposite of what you are suggesting.  The pill bugs are there because there is dead plant matter.  They did not cause the branches to die:

You did not send me photos of other parts of the tree or of the dead branches.  I suggest you contact a certified arborist to see what issues your tree has:
