Expert Response
The seedling in your photo appears to be in the walnut family since it has alternate, pinnately compound leaves and the leaflets appear to have toothed margins. Likely a black walnut but young seedlings can be more difficult to identify. To make sure it is not a "Tree of Heaven" (Ailanthus altissima) crush a leaflet. If it exudes a disagreeable odor, it is an evasive and should be eliminated. Below are two sites to help with the identification.

We crushed a leaf and there was no disagreeable odor. Having lost our very old black walnut in last year’s storm we were really hoping this seedling was a black walnut. We will continue to watch and nurture it.
Thank you for the information.
