My maple tree seems to be having an issue. Can you tell me what is wrong?

I really cannot give you an opinion based on these photographs.  Please submit photos of abnormal leaves, or shoots and include a picture of the trunk and base of tree.
Thank you.

Hello,
Without more photos, I can only suspect that this could be caused by a late freeze after the first growth had already emerged.  The current leaves on the tree seem unaffected, so I would recommend just watching the tree this summer and making sure it gets adequate watering (but don't overdo it, we have been getting lots of rain so far this season.) If you see more troubling symptoms, you might want to get an arborist on site to take a look at the entire tree and root area.  We always recommend an ISA-certified arborist.  Find one here: https://www.treesaregood.org/findanarborist/arboristsearch
I hope this is helpful.  Thank you for contacting Ask Extension.
