The Minnesota Mycological Society helps people identify mushrooms. It takes a lot of training that Extension volunteers don’t have.

To get rid of the mushrooms crush them into the grass with your shoe as soon as you see them. A large tree probably died nearby and the roots are decaying. The roots decay pretty quickly and then the mushrooms stop popping up.
