Plant ID - I Don't Want to Keep an Invasive #868741

Hi. Can you help me confirm what this plant is in my garden? I don't want to keep it if it is an invasive, which is what I suspect. The "Seek" app id'd it as Thyme Leaved Speedwell. I Google searched on that & my plant does not match the Google images I see. There is a columbine and perennial ageratum grown in the middle of it. Thanks.

Expert Response
We agree that this looks like a Speedwell (Veronica) species given the flower traits (flowers are very important in plant ID), and Thyme-leaved Speedwell looks likely given the leaf traits as well. Of the multiple Veronica species that grow wild in Maryland, only three are native, and this does not resemble any of those. The rest, about a dozen species, are non-native. While Thyme-leaved Speedwell is not invasive per se, it isn't native, so you can remove it if you prefer, though it is already found state-wide.
