Please help id this beetle #868719

There are many of these beetles on my chamomile plants. Are they friend or foe?

Unfortunately we can't see the insects' details too clearly, but they resemble Varied Carpet Beetle adults, which are known to visit flowers (when they eat anything at all). Carpet beetle larvae can be a nuisance pest indoors, chewing into natural fibers like wool, but the presence of adults outdoors isn't of concern and doesn't necessarily mean they will wander inside. Although that particular species of carpet beetle is non-native, it's been living in our region for over a century, and no intervention is necessary.
