Can I save my beautiful tree? #868552

I have a maple type tree in my backyard. It was a mature tree when I moved here 20+ years ago. It's always been healthy. I was shocked the other day to see that interior branches were dying or dead with a Spanish Moss type plant invading them. Is it possible to save this tree by removing the dead/dying branches? The tree service people won't answer my question. Can you direct me to the right tree professional to ask, if you can't answer the question? Thank you for your time.

Hello, you may want to connect with a "Consulting Arborist" who is certified by the International Society for Arboriculture (ISA).   A consulting arborist does not do the tree work, so does not have a financial interest in whatever you have done.   Here is a directory, look for someone in your area:
