We live in Duluth, in zone 4a and would like to plant tree hydrangeas. Any recommendations? Are all tree hydrangeas panicle type? I have read that the Limelight type has a very fragile trunk with a large canopy. Is it too fragile?

Expert Response
Panicled hydrangea are often grown in tree form. They have sturdy branches, bloom on the current year's growth and tolerate more sun that other varieties. The limelight variety is known for having sturdy limbs allowing it to grow up to 13 feet. There are many varieties to choose from. Make your choice base on what color bloom and size you are looking for.
