1) Is there any harm/benefits of English ivy (my woods floor is covered with it) 2) What nightshades are native to Ohio?

Summit County Ohio

Expert Response

English Ivy is an extremely invasive plant.  Removal will take time and effort on your part and will need to be repeated for several years to get adequate removal.  I am attaching several sources for you which can give you more information.  If you have pets that like to eat the leaves of plants, English Ivy can be toxic to them.  It will kill trees.
