Maple Tree Black Bark and White Spots - Disease? #868474

Looking to identify if our Maple tree has a disease and how to address it. Gloomy Scale perhaps? Thank you.

I need a picture of the lower three feet of the tree.

The diminuation of the tree canopy is very worrisome.

Please rake the stones away from the tree and remove the garden cloth. I need to see the tree as it enters the ground. Give me two pics, one from each side of the tree.
