My neighbors have two trees they want to get rid of:
a young Juniper tree (~3 feet tall). The adult it came from is ~10-15 feet tall.
a japanese maple about 12-14 inches tall. The tree it came from is ~10-15 feet tall with multiple trunks that start close to the ground.
I want to put them into the ground in Mid June.
Should I dig them up now while the weather is cool and keep them in pots for about a month.
OR
Should I dig them up closer to the date (they will still need to be in pots for a few days).

Hello,
It probably doesn’t matter whether the trees are potted up in May or June. However, keep them properly watered before they are moved and while in the pot and protect them from the hot sun while in the pot is essential.
