Poison hemlock #868438

Asked May 14, 2024, 4:16 PM EDT

Saw this on a wall, curious if poison hemlock. No fuzz on stem, hallow seeming and dark at base.

Multnomah County Oregon

Hi Comstock,
Your pictures are not definitive. I look for purple splotches on the stems and do not see them in your images.
I have attached a fact sheet from the California Invasive Plant Council to compare with the plants you found.
Best regards,
Sandy

Here is a close up of stem, not sure if this helps?

That is helpful. I believe this is a plant commonly called cow parsley, Anthriscus sylvestris. It is native to Europe and parts of Asia and is considered invasive in the United States.
Check out https://www.nwcb.wa.gov/weeds/wild-chervil and https://www.invasiveplantatlas.org/subject.html?sub=5114.
