What type of ground cover/Not poisonous? - Ask Extension
I am hoping this is not an invasive type of ground cover, nor causes skin irritation. It has become quite prolific this spring.

I am hoping this is not an invasive type of ground cover, nor causes skin irritation. It has become quite prolific this spring.

Unfortunately, that looks like Winter Creeper (Euonymus fortunei). It is a lovely plant that has escaped gardens and spread into wild areas, taking up space where our native plants should be. (Native plants and other flora/fauna have evolved to support each other over eons.)
It's actually now illegal to sell the plant in Maryland.

We are not aware that it causes any skin sensitivity but it does tend to grow with other vines like poison ivy that may be within the same area.
