Poison hemlock identification and removal #868405

Hi, Is this poison hemlock please? If it is, how best to remove without using chemicals. Thanks

It appears that there are purple splotches on the stem in your photo, so this is most likely poison hemlock.

If you have a small number of plants, it is possible to eliminate them by digging or repeatedly cutting them at the ground (when they re-sprout).  It is critical to do this before they go to seed.  Alternatively, I’ve had good success cutting them low and immediately treating the stem with a small amount of herbicide.

Whatever you choose to do, be very careful, because all parts of the plant are extremely toxic.  This article provides excellent background and advice:
