We have heard from many folks who have observed a reduced visitation rate, whilst others are reporting robust "business" at their feeders. It is possible that the late winter ice storm reduced populations, but because hummingbirds are not typically banded due to their small size, nobody (agency or university researchers) typically has solid estimates of numbers and we don't get any individual data on migrations, fates, etc.
