Shady shrubs #868372

Asked May 14, 2024, 11:45 AM EDT

Hello!! I am a new homeowner/gardener and I am having trouble selecting the right plants to buy for my yard. I am currently searching for one shrub ideally something that gets pretty large max 10x10’ to plant along the north facing wall of my house. This spot gets hardly any direct sunlight which is making my search harder. I also have a dog that would be around the plant so I don’t want anything that would be problematic for him. I have been looking into spirea and think that could be a great option, but I’m not sure how it would do in the shade as I’m seeing mixed reviews. In an ideal world this shrub would be a native plant that would be attractive to either pollinators or birds. Thank you so much for your help! Sara Burton
