I dormant seeded throughout my yard and the bare areas now have tall seedlings ready to mow. However, there are seedlings also mixed in with the established grass. I haven't ferilized yet, what fertilizer should I use for all the areas? After doing research and reading bags of fertilizer, there seems to be some contradictions if you have new grass and established grass. Thank you.

Expert Response
Go with the suggestions for the new grass. It is more delicate and you want it to grow and thrive. The established grass will be fine. The U of Massachusetts recommends that you
apply a balanced fertilizer. Apply 1/2 to 1 lb. of nitrogen per 1000 sq. feet when seedlings are about 2” high. This will enhance growth and hasten the recovery of the lawn to the quality you desire.
