Hello Dianne;

It is difficult when our animals are not feeling well.  I have raised rabbits for over 50 years but am not a veterinarian.  If there is white nasal discharge your rabbit snuffles which most commonly is caused by Pasteurella a bacterial infection.

Many times, this is caused by stress, but other factors can also cause it such as an ammonia build up in the air from the urine.  the only treatment for this is antibiotics but beware that they may do damage to the rabbit's digestive track.

If you have more than one rabbit, I would separate them immediately as this is highly contagious. Disinfect all cages, crocks and equipment with a mild bleach solution.

 When treated the symptoms may disappear for some time but the rabbit is still contagious.  I have known of owners having their infected animal as a pet for many years but often times this turns into pneumonia and the animal passes.

Texas A&M has an article from 2012 on the disease:  https://forms.gle/HgUU1mbRo673tTFZ6
