Fertilizer? (Soil test) #868137

Asked May 12, 2024, 11:09 PM EDT

I have attached the fertilizer recommendations from my MSU soil test. It seems like it's somewhat difficult to find fertilizers that meet this criteria - or at least that they're not quite so readily available in a big box store. Any recommendations on where to order fertilizer like this? Or brands to look at? It's for a perennial garden bed.

Charity - you are correct that finding a general fertilizer with a 1:0:3 ratio most likely will not be possible.  So, you may want to consider a general fertilizer with Nitrogen and Potassium.  That will address the Nitrogen need.  Then purchase a Potassium only fertilizer and apply it separately from the general fertilizer.  Note that you can use the Fertilizer Calculator (found under Tools) for each product to determine how much to apply for 100 sq. ft. in one year.  Follow the application instructions on the package.

Good job starting with a soil test to know the health of your soil.  Hope that helps.
