Asked May 12, 2024, 7:45 PM EDT

This peach tree was planted 2 weeks ago. Some leaves are turning orange yellow. I included a picture. I was wondering what could be causing this? Thanks so much, Richard Kurtz Marlboro, NY

Expert Response

Leaves turning yellow on a new peach tree could be the result of overwatering or underwatering.  Also could be a lack of nutrients in your soil.  Have you done a soil test?
The soil may be low in iron or manganese. You can bring a soil sample to the CCE office in Kingston Plaza for a pH test or buy the Rutgers test envelope to test for specific nutrient deficiencies.
