What are the best evergreen to plant in mason county. I am new to the area -and I live a few hundred feet off a sandy bottom shallow lake. And would like some evergreens for privacy. I have full afternoon sun.

Hello Bobbi -
I've looked around for a good source to help you with your tree selection, and I think this might help you:

I know this is from North Dakota, but I really like this little tree selector: https://www.ag.ndsu.edu/tree-selector
I've been answering questions about pine tree problems. There are some diseases proliferating right now:

I would look and see what evergreens look healthy in your area. Arborvitae is often used for privacy and is native to Michigan, but it will bend in two in an ice storm. So whatever tree you choose, Google it for pests and diseases before planting a lot of them. Just a word to the wise. ;-)
I hope this helps!
