Planting flowers #868089

Asked May 12, 2024, 3:04 PM EDT

Is it safe to start planting flowers in our planters and flower boxes? We live in Hudsonville.

Ottawa County Michigan

Expert Response

Our worst fear is frost after Mother's Day through Memorial D.
The plants will need to be monitored for temperatures and need to be covered and/or moved to a sheltered place if temperatures are below 60 degrees at night.
As the air warms the next day, uncover for air and sun light/warmth.
