Expert Response
There are a few, but the most sustainable approach is to use a thick (perhaps 3 inches deep) mulch layer between and around plants to suppress weed seed germination. In the Virginia Tech pest management guide for home fruit growers, page 33 lists some post-emergent herbicide options that are labeled for use around home fruit plants.
For grasses, the following active ingredients should give excellent control: Fluazifop-PButyl, Glufosinate, Glyphosate, and Sethoxydim. They can be found in products with names like Grass-B-Gone and Weed-B-Gone. Always read the product label before buying and using to make sure it's labeled for small fruits, since the same active ingredient might be used in other products that are not safe for use around plants producing a harvest.
