A search of lawncare websites shows products that are said to kill Bermuda grass without harming the other grasses. However, I have not found university or research-based sites that support that claim. There are other means to accomplish your goal – digging it out is an obvious solution for those with the time and energy, and solarization using clear plastic, or smothering using newspaper or cardboard also work. They are not quick solutions but they are natural and effective if done properly.
Here is a link to a website that will explain all those techniques, plus give you the names of chemical products that they say will work. This is a commercial site; remember that their goal is to sell advertisements and products. I cannot recommend or verify any of the information on the site but a lot of it sounds like common sense. You will need to read it closely and decide for yourself what you want to try.
How to Kill Bermuda Grass and Get Rid of it in Your Lawn (%current | CrabgrassLawn
Depending on the amount of Bermuda grass you have, spot treatment would be preferable to treating the entire lawn. The article mentions glyphosate which is a non-selective herbicide. Use it only as a spot treatment – it will kill any plant it comes in contact with.
Whichever product you use, be sure to read and follow the label directions exactly as written. Using more than the recommended amount of product does not work better; it just pollutes more and wastes your money. Be sure to wear protective clothing as well as eye protection.
