Maple tree located in Kentwood. This dark crack area seems to have developed over the past season. Not sure if this is something that is cause for concern. Dont want the tree splitting and falling on the house.

There, you can find arborists in your zip code area. The on-site evaluation may determine that your tree is fine and that the cracks are not of the dangerous kind.
If the crack is becoming more prominent, you want to have the tree evaluated.
