Replace grass lawn with native plants (Copper Country) #867945
Asked May 10, 2024, 7:47 PM EDT
Hello! I’d like to replace my lawn with native plants that’ll be good for the local bees and other insects. I’ve got a retaining will that’s likely back-filled with gravel, with soil and grass on top. Every landscaper I’ve called either didn’t understand what I was asking or offered to pave over it with gravel, which I don’t want to do. Are there any people or organizations in the Western UP that you can recommend to help me out?

Expert Response
While we can't recommend specific businesses, you may have better luck looking for an ecological restoration company, or an ecological landscaping company. I would recommend reaching out to your local conservation district as well. They sometimes have fundraiser plant sales, and can offer advice.
