can you help #867913

Asked May 10, 2024, 3:19 PM EDT

I work in the recycling field and have a potential client that makes apple and pear juice. They have a season that runs from the end of August to early October (roughly 60 days). They produce about 40 tons per day of pulp. Currently they are giving it to a dairy farm but from what they are telling me the farm is closing this season. Do you have a list of farms (this would work for pig and cattle) that I could contact to see who may be interested in this? Thanks Dan

Expert Response

Where is the location of the juice plant? Do they transport the pulp or does the livestock producer pick it up?

I've reached out to some livestock and dairy specialists for their suggestions.

Please contact Jenifer Cruickshank, the OSU Dairy Specialist. https://anrs.oregonstate.edu/users/jenifer-cruickshank

Jenifer has a lead on a dairy that is open to accepting byproducts.

Please reach out if you that doesn't work out.
