Expert Response

Hi Jeanine,
What a fun project. OSU Extension has a great publication to help you as you design your pollinator friendly yard called, "Enhancing Urban and Suburban landscapes to Protect Pollinators". I love this publication for all the details and plans.

Bees can extract food from the flowers so you don't need to go crazy removing the plants. You can sort of bully them out of the way and may the best plant win!
Thank you for your help!
