Brown leaves on Japanese maple #867868
Asked May 10, 2024, 11:28 AM EDT
I have a young Japanese maple that is three or four years old and I have noticed each spring that I get many of the leaves that are brown. Otherwise, the plant seems healthy. I’m just wondering if there is anything that the plant needs that I’m not giving it.

I am not allowed to answer questions that come from outside Wake County so I would have to suggest that you contact your Buncombe County Extension Agent who most likely will relay your question to the Buncombe County Extension Master Gardeners., who are great at answering questions. That said, it looks most like sun scorch to me but the local group would know better if it might be cold damage after leaves come out.
