Jumping worms on forest edge #867815
Asked May 09, 2024, 8:00 PM EDT
I've already spotted baby jumping worms, which I learned to ID last year, and I'm all too familiar with their castings.
They are active along the part of my driveway near the road, a few yeards on either side into some protected forested land, as well as my neighbors.
Is there any value in solarizing in a shady area? I was thinking of removing the leaf litter (carefully bagging and solarizing) and then covering the ground with plastic to solarize. It is shady but it should still get hot, no?
I'm aware nothing has been "proven" so people are reluctant to recommend things like saponins etc. But is there any value in using those? I hear they are not good for amphibians, and I wouldn't want to harm them.
Many thanks in advance for your advice!
