Is there a mint native to oregon? I'm afraid to trust a Google search. If there is what does it taste like?

Linn County Oregon

Expert Response

lThere is a perennial, Coyote Mint, (Monardella villosa) that is native to western California and Oregon. It  grows to 12-24" tall, full sun or partial shade in well drained soils. Used by Native Americans for upset stomach, respiratory conditions and sore throat.

Peppermint was first grown in Oregon in  1908 after which the Pacific Northwest became the major mint growing region.
