Hi! We found this egg broken on the ground. Can you tell us who it is? Guessing scrub jay or red winged blackbird, both who are living in our trees.

That could be a scrub jay egg. It fits the criteria I found in the Cornell life history card for the species: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/California_Scrub-Jay/lifehistory
