Greetings
I bought some composted manure for my above ground garden beds. While I was smoothing it out I noticed chunks of fresh manure mixed in. Is it safe to plant my garden in that?
Thank you

Expert Response
Hi Doug,
The manure is too raw for safe use in your raised beds. It carries pathogens and needs to be fully decayed before growing food crops in it.
Is there an area where you can pile it, cover it and dig it into the beds this fall? That would be safer.

I hope this helps.
