I recently had a soil test completed MM3N5Z for an area I grow 100 blueberry bushes in. The test results provide 3 conflicting recommendations.
1. On a yearly basis: Nitrogen 0.1lb per 100 feet
2. For established plants:
Nitrogen (0.25lb) 21-0-0 (ammonium sulfate), Phosphorus 0-46-0 (Triple Super Phosphate) and Potassium 0-0-50 (Potassium Sulfate)
3.Comments - Apply one lb sulfur per 100 sq feet each year for 3 years.. Apply 1/3lb 21-0-0 (Ammonium sulfate) per 100 sq ft in spring . Also apply iron until soil pH is in ideal range.
My questions are:
1.The Nitrogen recommendation on a yearly basis is consistent - Ammonium Sulfate 21-0-0, but is the rate 1/3lbs, .25lbs, or 0.1lb per 100 sq feet?
2. Should I be applying Phosphorus and Potassium too? This is listed in 'For Established Plantings' but not in the other two areas. Phosphorus and Potassium were above Optimum in the soil test.
3. Would Ammonium Sulfate (21-0-0) be considered part of the recommended 1 pound sulfur per 100 sq feet, or is it in addition to the Ammonium Sulfate?

Apply 5.3 ounces on Ammonium Sulfate/100 sq ft

Apply Phosphorous and Potassium as recommended, for established plants.

No, Ammonium sulfate is a NUTRIENTE. Sulfur is to acidify the soil.
