Mildew on Lilacs #867682

Asked May 09, 2024, 8:30 AM EDT

I have a very old row of lilac bushes. This year I notice the blooms appeared to have been frost damaged but there is also a grey mildew on the branches. Some branches have died. Is this a new problem in southwest Michigan?

Expert Response

A plant specimen is needed to determine if there is grey mildew.
The pruning history also is needed.
