Weed supression #867678

I was going to use painters paper to suppress the weed in my garden plot It’s 36” wide x 140’ long I have a large area, it appears to be made out of recycled cardboard Is it safe to use?

Thank you for reaching out to OSU extension. To answer your question regarding if it is safe to use painter's paper, I would say there is no harm in doing so. It really depends on the specific types of weeds you have and if they are pretty invasive or are perennial weeds, I would hand pull them out making sure you get the roots out as well.
