Management for wildlife #867669

Asked May 08, 2024, 9:14 PM EDT

I own a 40 acre plot that is largely marsh land with some higher ground and want to make it a good place to hunt. It is currently mostly poplar and alder with willow around the water. It is also very thick and difficult to traverse. I am looking for ideas that would draw deer, rabbits, grouse, turkeys and blue jays and keep them on the property. I would also like to minimize the undergrowth so it’s a bit easier to traverse. What are your suggestions on how to do this and what should I be looking to plant? I would also like there to be plenty of fruits and berries that I can maybe get some if the wildlife doesn’t get them first.
