Expert Response

Without more information and a photo, I can only guess what is happening.  It is area watered on a regular basis?  Or, on the opposite possibility, is it exposed to standing water for a long length of time?  Has this been gradually expanding or is it a sudden happening?  What remedies have been tried?  Was it sprayed with a product?

Barbara, thank you for the prompt reply . the adjacent half of the yard's grass looks normal, I generally don't water , this appeared once the snow melted, and I've not done any spraying and no history of standing water. Where would I send a picture ?   thanks, Jim
