Do I need a special type of glass for a greenhouse?  Does it need to be UV resistant?

Expert Response

Thank you for your question about greenhouse glazing. I've attached a few links that describe UV materials in great detail, or in general.
Yes, the UV resistance of your glass will impact the growth of plants. But any non-tinted glass can be use in greenhouse construction. If you are purchasing glazing materials from a commercial greenhouse supply company, they can also give you specifics about the type of glass they sell.
Many hobbyists construct greenhouses from recycled windows and are very happy with the result!
