Leaf curling #867497

Asked May 07, 2024, 9:02 PM EDT

I have a peony and lillies of the valley in one section of my garden and the leaves on both plants are curling. Do I need to do anything to address this?

Good Morning Cecily,

Thank you for contacting the U of M Extension Service.

From viewing your photo, it appears your plants are tucked in between a small garden, right next to the house siding. There could be many issues affecting your plants. Are the roots too crowded? Are they getting sun reflective heat from the siding?

Here is a link about curling leaves: https://ucanr.edu/blogs/blogcore/postdetail.cfm?postnum=27226

This information states: Leaf rolling in vegetable plants like pepper, eggplant, and tomato is very common during wet spring conditions. This isn't caused by a disease, and no action is necessary.

The photo on the right appears as if a critter has been munching on the ends of the leaves.

Good Luck!
