Hello, I was wondering if there are many Linden trees in the Hermiston area. I would really like to plant one on my property. I love the fact that birds and bees really like it and I read that it is safe for livestock. If it is able to be grown in our area which species is the best? Thank you for your time.

Expert Response
Yes. You should be able to plant one in your area. Choose a location with full sun or partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. The tree prefers a neutral to alkaline pH but tolerates slightly acidic soils as well. Mulch around the linden tree with organic mulch such as pine needles, bark or shredded leaves.
