Hello Cindy,

I believe you can begin planting anytime now. I would advise you however to prepare for the possibility of a late frost.

The soil temp. is good for starting seed and transplanting.

If you are planting from seed pay attention to days to germination and days to maturity. Here in Ohio we have a relatively short growing season for some crops.  That includes flowers as well as vegetables . Some will do very well in the cooler spring and late fall and will need added moisture during the hot summer months . A good layer of mulch close to , but not against , the plants will keep the roots cool and moist .
