The first photo could be a native or cross between native and asian. There are so many species and varieties, it is difficult to tell for sure. Because of the size it could be Rhododendron catawbiense 'Roseum Elegans'  or 'purpreum elegans' . 

You can see the different species that are noted in Maryland on Maryland Biodiversity Project. Also you can look at the various species that are native to the US on Biota of North America Program  (BONAP) website 

The second one looks more like an asian type of Azalea. Here is a blog post on native Azaleas.
