Tansey Rsgwort #867247

Asked May 06, 2024, 1:26 PM EDT

I have been pulling Tansy every spring for six years. It’s pretty successful but as we are exposing soil it’s cropping up. I have a cover crop of c Crimson clover and I want to pull Tansy. I think a long tooled pulling fork would be helpful and do a he least damage to the clover. Do you have any tool that has proven useful for this purpose? I’m probably not the only senior citizen who could use an assist? BTW, I borrowed the Scotch Broom hoe/puller from Marion County extension….excellent tool!

Expert Response

There is a tool called "Grandpa's Weeder" that you can use standing up. Used primarily to weed dandelions or weeds with longer roots and should  work well on Tansy ragwort.
